Building a sustainable tomorrowBAM Nuttall are currently working in a joint venture partnership with Kier in the South West (Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset), delivering reinforced concrete, bulk earthworks and infrastructure on one of the UKs largest projects.We are seeking a Full Time Design Coordinator (Delivery) to join us at HPC, Somerset, within Roads and Networks (RAN). The key applicant will be working alongside the Pre-Construction and Delivery teams to coordinate the design requirements for permanent assets to be installed within the RAN scope of works.
Your work environment- Working from home may be possible on occasions, though consistent site attendance is required due to the nature of the project.

Your missionAs a Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Engage in a purposeful and well organised manner with the designer and other team members.
- Manage design delivery project documentation both from the client and third party designers.
- Treat Health and Safety, sustainability, cost, time, constructability and appropriate quality matters as primary drivers of approach.
- Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate with the project team.
- Contribute to written submission material.
- Attend pre-construction meetings to contribute a clear view of the work scope and intention of the engineered solutions.
- Coordinate design and engineering by personal contact with key stakeholders and project team.
- Contribute using engineering expertise and advice to add value to the process of design development.
- Keep project management informed of activities undertaken and progress achieved.
- Assist in developing and monitoring design programmes.
- Contribute to design and project risk register.
- Contribute to preparation of material and submission documents in support of planned engineered solutions and construction methods.
- Contribute to the submission process following the project procedures, to input a clear view of the work scope and intentions of the designed solutions.
- Contribute to the identification of change and coordinate assessments of time and cost effects both from the client and third party designers.
- Carry out other relevant duties from time to time.
Who are we looking for?Essential:
- High level of IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Autocad/Civil 3D
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in highly regulated environments
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- High level of organisation skills
Desirable:
- Prior experience in Design Management OR in Civil Construction Engineering (Section Engineer/ Sub Agent)
- Previous experience working in large civil projects
- Awareness of construction methodologies
- Use of web-based contract communication tools (CEMAR)
- CSCS card holder
